Chek Jawa: Singapore's Natural Wonder

The dazzling island city of Singapore is best known for its modern sky scrapers, shopping malls, museums and luxury cruise lines but it also holds a natural wonder with the richest eco-systems called Chek Jawa.



It is a unique natural region where six major habitats meet and mix.The natural area was discovered only in December 2000. The travellers can enjoy a visitor centre with a viewing jetty, one kilometre walk in mangroves and coastal loops along the 21 metre tall Jejawi Tower. The remarkable boardwalk along the coast is the best way to witness the exotic plant and marine life. Plan your Visit
It is a good idea to check the timing of the tides before you visit this area. It is an intertidal area and its eco-systems only appear at low tides of 0.5-metre and below. The area opens at 8:30 am and closes at 6:00 pm.
